Three days ago I posted on the latest search engine for torrents, YouTorrent.com, and raved about how much I liked the service. In fact, I believe the word I used was "awesome". After just a few days of using the site to locate my *cough* legal *cough* torrents that ranged from software to movies I must say that I am rather pleased. And apparently I am not the only one after seeing YouTorrent's blog post on the traffic they received in the first 3 days where they show that they reached an amazing 150,000 searches per day within 3 days of launching the service! How's that for gaining some immediate traction with a new web-based service?
YouTorrent also lists the features and improvements that will soon come in the near future. Here's the list...
- Better blog design
- Information pages (about, help, FAQ, etc.)
- Boolean Searches (support for AND, OR and + - )
- Linux Firefox Support
- Static Cached Results Pages
- Advanced Search Features
- Engine Customization Options
- More Engine Specifications
- Official Firefox Search Plug-in
Be sure to check out my first post to get more information about the torrrent search engine, including all the different torrent sites it indexes and even a few screen shots.
